Spasms in ms

My lower back has started spasming in the early hours. This has been going on for a bout a week, getting steadily worse. Today I saw the gp.

She mentioned a drug specifically for spasms but I can't remember the name - begins with B?

Baclofen?

That's the one! Atm I'm OK on diazepam, but I can't take them for very long, so she said I may need Baclofen.

Can you tell me anything about it?

I don't know much about it I'm afraid- DH had it for a really severe back spasm- it made him sleep most if the time but I think it did help the spasms to ease.

So it's not one which you take for years like pregabalin? Just until the spasms stop, not a preventative. That's useful in itself. Thanks.
