Infected eczema in child. OOH or wait til tomorrow?

Dd who is 8 showed me a sore patch on her leg earlier this evening, looks quite nasty with raised patch around it so I think it might be infected.

I am presuming it is eczema related because she has eczema but has never had an infection before. It doesn't really look like her eczema but she is inclined to pick and poke at her skin.

I put a few pen dots around it to monitor the size and it has grown slightly in the past hour.

I've cleaned it with antiseptic and she's in the bath now.

Just wondering will it wait til morning or should I get her seen tonight?

Thanks

If it has grown then call nhs direct. I had non-progressive infected eczema and was told by the derm nurse that if it spread rapidly ie hours then it was a medical emergency and to go straight to a+e. I would seek advice now and keep an eye out for any other symptoms ie feeling sick, generally unwell, temperature etc. if any of those happen i would just go straight to a+e

How is it going?

Could be impetigo. My DD had that and we assumed ut was her eczema. If she gets a few more sores it sounds like that. We didn't realise until DH caught it. Oops.

Thanks for the replies.

I rang for advice last night and they said it could wait til morning. It looks a lot better today so I took her in to the pharmacist for advice. She said it looks like a surface graze and that it doesn't appear to be infected so to just keep an eye on it.
