Bleeding after sex

Hi
Name changed for this.
I am hoping someone can give me some advice.

Probably around 6 months ago I had an incident, actually nothing so much as that I had some awesome sex and then got, what was like a period for around 5 days. My normal period happened a week later.
I went to the doctor when this happened and they found nothing.

However I have continued to bleed (just a little) when I have sex. Not each time but often enough. Today it is happening again and I have been cramping up quite badly. I'm 43 - not sure if that matters.
I have made a doctors appointment (but it's a week away)
DH is not happy at all.

Should I be panicking? I am in pain but not like I cannot walk, just uncomfortable.
I suppose I just want to be told that everything is going to be okay.
I told DH that he must not worry because it cannot be too serious.
Help! Advice would be most welcome.

Might not be anything serious. I'm assuming you've had regular smears etc? Try to see a doc tomorrow if you still have pain, that's not right. You need a speculum exam to see if you have an ectropion (small blood blister on cervix, harmless) and ultrasound for ?cervical polyp ans endometrial thickness. If you can, try not to worry too much, might even be fibroids, but will show in ultrasound. Good luck!!!

Ive been experiencing lots of pain and sometimes bleeding after sex. I was last week in agony to the point it hurt to move to sneeze or to cough. I'm now painkillered up and okay(ish) but have an appointment for next Thursday with my doctor to chat about it

Yes, thats not normal. Do u have a coil? By next Thursday to u mean in 9 days?? That's ridiculous. If you still have pain on coughing or sneezing that makes it unbearable to move please go to A&E in the morning. Or sooner if pain worsens. You do need a scan.

Ring your doctor again ( cry if you have to ) and ask for an emergency appointment . They generally keep a few spaces for these ..and this sound horrendous for you . Try not to worry ( yeah right ..really easily done ...sorry) . Few years ago I had similar problem and after endoscopy it turned out I had a polyp in my uterus which bled after .... erm ...vigorous sex ( those were the days !) . They didn't even bother removing it either as the consultant said it would " atrophy " as I was going through the menopause .... he was right !

I don't have a coil. I do have poly cystic ovaries but for the last 4 years since my 1st implant sex has been enjoyable and painless.

I am a little scared stupid worried. But Hoping it subsides. I did think of going to the sexual health clinic tomorrow and seeing whether there was anything they could do but not sure whether this would be there sort of thing to deal with (i do go for check ups etc there)

I used to experience bleeding after sex occasionally and it was found I had abnormal cells and I needed a LETZ procedure to remove them. Been fine ever since.

OurMiracle1106 · 10/07/2014 00:09

I had my abnormal cells removed in February. Not had a problem with sex til now.

I had bleeding after sex (no pain though). It was a polyp.
