Advice needed - silly accident

Hi, this afternoon I somehow managed to fall in my mums front door! Landed shin first on the metal threshold and face planted the carpeted floor, got up pretty quick, embarrassment factor of 10, examined my injuries to find that I had a perfect round hole on my shin - only tiny about the size of a cocktail stick - but it won't stop bleeding, gone through 4 plasters which filled with blood. Have now used an absorbent dressing and a cross of strapping plaster to try and put pressure on it.

Anyone any other ideas of what I can do to make it stop? I have some thread veins around the area but surely pressure should make it stop and of course the bruise is now coming out so still very sore for what it is!!

I would get in checked out if it has been bleeding that long.

Puncture wounds can be very nasty, especially if there's something still in there.

Take yourself to A&E me dear, if it goes through the pad in spite of applying pressure. You might need a bit of help with that one.

If it is bleeding for that long it must have gone very deep so I'd get it checked out too. Embarrassing I know, but if it's not stopping and it's still fresh blood then I think you possibly need A&E as it sounds like it needs cleaning and stitching/gluing?

A&E I think, it's a tricky area. As said previously perhaps a stitch or gluing would help.
