She may have been sick from crying or shock? But it can also be a sign of concusion. I'd keep a close eye on her, watch out for her seeming unusually lethargic or drowsy. I agree with JJ about A&E, I'd only go with dd if I was REALLY worried.

katzguk · 28/03/2004 20:51

however i always find that going to the doctors is a sure fire way of making my DD better!!

joking aside if it was me i'd be down at the childrens but then it is only 5 mins drive

JanHR · 28/03/2004 20:52

When my brother was younger he was a regular at levenvale a&e. He was forever falling backwards and cutting his head when we wre at my aunts

Jimjams · 28/03/2004 20:53

whereabouts on the head is it. being hit in the side is more dangerous than anywhere else. As she's been sick I think it would be worth getting her checked out.

JanHR · 28/03/2004 20:55

jImjams, she is talking to NHS direct now.

Hulababy · 28/03/2004 21:00

katzguk - it's great being so close to children's A&E isn't it. I can almost see it from here and could walk there in 5 minutes, run in less. Not had to go there with DD yet - touch wood.

katzguk · 28/03/2004 21:03

hulababy - its great, if you do ever have to go it is very nice, we've been once when DD had an eye swollen shut with conjuctavitus! they were fanstatic.

Good luck essbee. Hope she is okay

marthamoo · 28/03/2004 21:12

Hope she's OK, sb. I think it was the right thing to take her - mainly because she was sick, but I'm sure she'll be fine xx

WideWebWitch · 29/03/2004 08:08

Gosh, missed this, your poor dd (and you). Glad she's ok

Hulababy · 29/03/2004 08:46

Good to hear she is pretty much OK essbee. How is she this morning? And you - tough night?

charlieplus3 · 29/03/2004 09:08

Just checking on your ds. Was thinking of you, so glad shes ok. Hope you got some sleep

PipBeckett · 29/03/2004 09:59

Checked in to see if there was any news. What a relief! I hope you managed a bit of sleep and that your dd is feeling more herself this morning. Thinking of you.

debster · 29/03/2004 10:02

Hope your dd is feeling better today.

The glue is great isn't it? My ds(5) had to have his head glued up when he fell backwards against the corner of our wardrobe. There was blood everywhere (even on our cream carpet - the stains are still there ) Anyway, just wanted to say that the glue is brilliant as ds was terrified he was going to have stitches. The only problem was we weren't allowed to wash his hair for about a week which meant he had to go to school with a nice matted lump on the back of his head!

kiwisbird · 29/03/2004 10:07

missed this too, hope DD is recovering ok too, what a scare. Hope Ds is remorseful, but then he is a fella LOL
My son was concussed last week too after connecting with bunk bed soundly in his sleep, one black eye stil evident.
Take care soon she will be bouncing around again!

Good to hear she is on the mend essbee.

I know what you mean about the bad mummy stares. DD had a black eye after a fall at nursery when she was quite little. I felt terrible taking her outside until it had gone - I wanted a badge that said "I didn't do it"

LIZS · 29/03/2004 13:23

Sorry to hear about the mishap and glad dd seems better.
