One sided breast pain ....

So last year I started having random shooting pains in my left breast, thus sent my health anxiety into overdrive and I panicked and began noticing every little thing left breast related ( red marks which were small broken veins from constantly touching)
Anyhow after 8 weeks of this pain, my gp reffered me for peace of mind to the breast clinic, turned out to be nothing but just hormonal.
Pain soon went, now fast forward 11month and it's back :(
Again I am starting to panic ..

What sort of bra are you wearing? Underwired?

I had a similar thing, one side, both shooting and aching pain, also a small area of thickening. Had the pains the year before but ignored them as they went off quite quickly. This time they lasted a whole. Had the review in breast clinic. I have fatty thickening and probably hormonal problems.

It eased off then came back a few months later. I changed from underwired bras to sports bras (big boobs so need good support) and touch wood it hasn't been an issue since then.

If it's the same symptoms it's unlikely to be caused by a different thing, but do go and get it checked if you are worried. No one will mind.

Thanks for reply, yes underwired. I'm a dd cup so need wired lol.
Exact same symptoms as last year, I even had an ultrasound last year which was clear.

I am same as you - went to breast clinic just last week. Had an u/s and mammogram both sides and nothing untoward there. The consultant actually said to me that pain can be good as cancer at early stage doesn't hurt, which I was surprised at. My pain seems to loiter all month and then get much worse before my period. I was given a booklet from breast cancer trust about breast, talks about bras, evening primrose oil but no much else.

I'm a DD to E cup. Shock absorber bras are the business.
I had mammogram and ultrasound also.
They told me about evening primrose oil too Coalscuttle, then in the next breath the consultant said, but of course there is actually no evidence it really does any good!!

I've been suffering the very same thing, I had mammograms (dm has breast cancer) and ultra sounds.

It turns out i managed to pull the pectoralis minor (sp?) muscle. It's a fairly common injury which can result in this one sided breast pain. I had 4 months of physio to relieve the pain

My GP suggested vitamin B6 for breast pain reduction - there is some suggestion it may help here
