TMI- holes in perineum

I have tonight discovered 3 holes in my perineum.
When I DD 4 years ago I had a 3rd degree tear but all healed well.
Should I be panicking?
I doubt I can get in with the GP until the end of the week

I've got no issues thankfully. I'd say I could fit a match stick in them but 2 are very close together which is concerning.
Im hoping to be able to get in at the doctors tomorrow but can never guarantee it unfortunately. I think I need my mind putting at rest more than anything.

Oh heck, that's not good (I had a third degree tear too).

Hopefully your GP will refer you to a gynaecologist who specialises in childbirth injuries.

Did you have any follow up after giving birth? I was automatically referred to a gynae who I saw until I was 11 months post partum.

Yes I did have follow up with gyne for around a year and I also had physio (sp?) due to SPD and some sort of light therapy on the tear. I cant remember what it was exactly I just remember not liking the lady who did it because she kept moving my DD so I couldn't see her (she was about 2 hours old!)

Update- ive just come back from the doctors where I could only get an appointment with the nurse practitioner. She took a look and magically found me an appointment with a GP later on today

I had this, but I found it (only had one hole) about 5 months after the birth. I had a perineal repair which has sorted it out. I think it's called a perinearraphy.

Thanks for your reply. I shall google it.
Saw the GP this afternoon who will be referring me. She has also found an extra fleshy bit (it just keeps getting better!)
I just can't understand why this as happened 4 years on.

My tear had also healed well by my six week check. I wonder whether at that point the tissue is still settling down and really all they are looking for are infections or gaping wounds. I can't imagine this has just happened four years on.

The repair op was fine, it was sore but much less swelling etc than actually giving birth.

I’m 29 years old and had a baby girl 5 years ago I had a really rough delivery doctor had to use forceps during delivery and had to be cut.
I had stitches and everything healed fine .
Five years later I found a hole in my perineum?
It all started with burning sensations and pain and pressure which I thought I was having some type of infection which I was tested for. Eventually I put a mirror down there and found a hole.
I’ve been in pain when I sit or walk for about 2 months I’ve also recently discovered I have pain during intercourse which is new .
I have seen a few doctors who in which had no idea what it wrong. ( tested blood, urine, swabs, sti ruled out)
I seen a gyno who said the hole is a perineal sinus tract so it dosent connect anywhere and I’d have to live with it?
She pretty much told me I was fine .. but if I’m fine why am I in so much pain ?
Getting a second opinion -has any other moms out there gone through something like this ? This is the first I ever hear of it kind of bizzar
Help ?
