Rash after minor op. Should I be concerned?

I had carpal tunnel surgery on Tuesday and took off the bandage and changed the dressing for the first time today.

The back of my hand and part of my arm are covered in an itchy rash a bit like blisters under the skin, some slightly red. I felt some itching under the bandage and there were a few spots when I first removed it this morning and I thought sweat/heat rash but it seems to have got a bit worse over the last few hours.

The area on my inner wrist near the wound is very slightly warm.

DP has suggested putting Betnovate on it.

Unfortunately by the time I realised it had got worse during the day, not better, it was too late to get through to anyone on the phone.

(Have 6mo Ds so using hand quite a lot but seems ok)

Please advise!

Don't put betnovate on it, it could interfere with the healing. See how it is in the morning.

Thank you OYBBK, I agree about the betnovate, not inclined to mess about. It is looking worse :( more lumpy as it were. At least the itching isn't too bad.

If you feel unwell then seek help before morning I think. If it's the same or worse when you get up then ooh would be sensible.

Yes. Rats.

Thank you.

Managed to get through to nurse at place operation done and he said GP Monday and probably not allergy. Very puzzled, rash is neither coming nor going as it were Confused but comforted by fact arm not dropped off in the night.

Not sure about antihistamines while bf but thank you for the thought.

It is at least reassuring that it isn't getting worse.
