Dissolvable stitches not dissolving?

I had my wisdom teeth out two and a half weeks ago, was told the stitches would dissolve around 10-14 days but I still have some in my gum and lower cheek. It's not painful but uncomfortable, to I try and pull them out myself by pulling the bit that's stuck out? Or should I go to my dentist? Or maybe I should just wait?

I hate the dentist so really don't want them doing it unless I really have too.

Part of the sutures dissolving depends on how your body reacts to them, it can often take longer than 14 days. If your mouth is uncomfortable though, I would still let them have a look.

Thank you, I poked around a little last night and I think I knocked them out by brushing quite hard with my tooth brush, I still have a odd lump so not sure if there's still a few left in there ( inside the small lump ), feeling much more comfortable though, will see how it is Monday and if uncomfortable I will get it checked out by my dentist.

I've had to pull some out after 4 plus weeks as they started to get infected. Mine did not dissolve.
