I have finally succumbed and joined a gym 2 yrs after dd was born, cos i am fed up loathing my shape (nice sized boobs but a tummy like i have a small koala in there). please - what is the best exercise i can do in and out of the gym to get rid of my post pregnancy tum, and is it worth getting those trainers that are supposed to do the exercise for you ? (MBTS are they called? v. expensive)

i found the best way for me tummy was a excersise class called total Abs - 45 mins of different stomach excersises , unfortantly i have moved in the last 6 months and have stopped going to gym as much but def is the sit up that work!

The best (and only real way) to get rid of a tummy is good old sit ups. You can also do reverse curls to get rid of the pouch at the bottom of your tummy.

sit ups - they are sooo hard (i know that's the point). making naval touch spine, blimey!

Pull in your stomach to your naval, lift your pelvic floor and pull in your bum, all as hard as you can. Do 3 sets of 10. I was taught to do this by an obstetric physio to help my SPD, but had the side effect that my tummy shrunk about 2 inches and my waist is even slimmer than before I became pregnant!

Good luck!

Abs exercises are great but they will not shift the "flab", loads of cardio and a good diet are the only things that will shift that but with the abs work there will hopefully be a six pack underneath waiting to be discovered!

Now if I could only apply this advice to myself!
