In January just before my period, I nearly passed out in a shop and kept feeling sick - everybody asked if I was PG, I knew I wasn't and sure enougth AF arrived a week later. February it happened again, this time I thought I maybe PG but a week later AF arrived again. Now I feel the same, AF is not due for another 11 days. I have been trying to conceive this week but only managed to bd on Monday (day 12) and Thur (day 15) because I have felt so ill. Anybody else every experienced anything like this. I was OK until Jan. Can you get PG symptoms that quick ???? Doc suggested a panic attack.

Apologies if this is too obvious but are you eating enough?

Yes I am, it seems to get worse throughout the day. Just picked dd up from her dance class and felt really dodgy coming home.

Are you taking folic acid supplements? They can make you feel lousy if taken on an empty stomach. Another thought.. do you have heavy periods? Do you think you could be anaemic? Just a few guesses. Hope you feel better.

Is this happening when you're at home? I get panic attacks and u can get lots of different symptoms. It could hormonal?
How about taking a look at a panic attack site just to get some info? There are loads out there.
Or maybe it's a PMS syptom?
hope you find the answer soon x

Hi gold. Do you think you could be anaemic? Maybe a lack of iron could be causing it/

Alternatively like has been suggested it could be anxiety problems as the can cause you to feel faint although in reality its actually your blood pressure raising rather than lowering and no chance of fainting unless you hyperventilate. Do you get any other symptoms, irregular breathing, jelly legs or vision problems when this happens?

What are your eating habits like? I find that since having children I cant go for hours without food. Trying getting in a stock of something like bananas and nibbling on one in between meals.

HTH x

Do you get cold sweats before you feel faint? Do you feel dizzy and think that you just HAVE to lay down?

gold123 · 28/03/2004 10:52

I think maybe there are panic attacks but I don't know why ! I have nothing much to worry about, but why would they come at the same time each month or is it association ? do I get to that point in the month when I am aware it happens, then it does. A friend of mine is a nurse, so I am going in to see her for a blood test tomorrow, she mentioned I may be anaemic. I have recently packed in a job at my local hospital because I couldn't handle it (Gynae Ward) so I am feeling a bit of a failure at the moment - maybe this has affected me more than I thought. My confidence is quite low a the moment.

I vote iron-anemia, too. But there are other types of anemia -- Vit. B12? Copper? That don't produce symptoms all that different.
