Lump in breast

As i ran my hand over my top this morning i felt a lump in my left breast. It is only small, maybe a small pea size and not painful but hard. Its not been there before. Now i am scared but i'm only 32 so surely it can't be anything serious? I don't want to see my doctor as she never takes my seriously and just fobs me off with crap and any referrals she says she will do never get done. Now what?!

You must see a doctor and get it checked. If you don't like yours then See Another one in the practice, you are perfectly entitled to do this. And when you ring for an appointment tell the receptionist it is urgent and why, if necessary

There is only one doctor and the nurse, who is worse. Is it worth waiting while i change sugeries or should i just see rubbish doctor?

Please go and see a doctor. I found a lump in April, my GP referred me to out nearest breast clinic where I had a mammogram and an ultrasound.
Thankfully I got the all clear, it's a harmless cyst, but I can honestly say that it was on my mind the whole time between finding it and getting the results.
Please get it checked

My surgery is crazy busy routine appointments usually need to be booked three weeks in advance, when I phoned with a breast lump the receptionist got me an appointment that day and I was then referred immediately even though my GP thought it was nothing to worry about.
My GP was wrong, but it wasn't a straight forward diagnosis ultimately it hinged on consultant just feeling the way the lump felt didn't fit with biopsy results.
I felt cared for and supported every step of the way.

You must go, I think any go would deal with a breast lump appropriately. Your age had no beating on any of this. If she doesnt refer you, then deal with that if it happens, but you can't assume nothing will happen and ignore it.

Please, please go cross posted. Age has no bearings sadly at 42 I have already lost two friends to this evilness one at 19 and the other at 36 neither delayed. My cousin who is 38 had a full mastectomy last month.

Ok i'll try to get an appointment this week, i am really quite scared. I keep running my hand along my t-shirt in the hope the lump has disappeared but nope its still there. I know my mothers sister had a lump removed from her breast afew years ago but i'm not sure what it was or what happened as i don't speak to them anymore. I feel sick.

Go and see your gp and they will refer you to the breast clinic. You will get an appointment there within 2 weeks,chances are it's nothing sinister but you must get it checked just in case

Tell the receptionist you have found a breast lump and need to be seen TOMORROW. It's probably nothing, though, try not to worry too much

Does it make a difference that when i lay down i can't feel it? Thats got to be good right?

At your age it is more likely to be a cyst than cancer.

However nobody on here can be certain of that. And even your dr (rubbish or brilliant) cannot be certain of that.
I am sorry to hear that you don't rate her, but you must go and see her.
Point out the lump and state that you wish to be referred to a breast clinic.

When was your last period? Cystic lump can disappear and reappear during different times of the cycle, but whatever the odds you must be seen and referred.

Well, contact your surgery and make an appointment for next week.
It'll either be gone or it won't, but you'll have a foot in the door.
If it's not gone, get seen and referred.

It is much more likely to be innocent than not but I have breast cancer and I'm 36. I'm not saying that to worry you as it's very rare before 40, but never ignore a breast lump. Good luck.
