Yes. Cocodamol is paracetamol and codeine, so can take alongside ibuprofen in the right doses

I am so grateful

I don't know what you can get OTC that's stronger than cocodamol.

Codine and ibuprofen together is really strong x Hope you are ok

Katymac - yes but far from ideal, ringing the doctor is a good idea if you're in that much pain. (Ibuprofen and codeine both are bad for your digestive system) Your doctor will be able to prescribe either better anti inflammatories (voltarol etc) or stronger codeine/paracetamol mix. Hope you feel better soon.

Katymac - codeine can be a addictive too. Can make you feel sick and constipated. Seen your other thread and maybe your doc needs to help you to get this pain sorted and not just dose you up. Have you had any physio?

wherethewildthingsare · 06/09/2006 09:16

Katymac - diclofenac (voltarol) is a better anti-inflam than ibruprofen and kinder to your stomach as it is absorbed in the gut. You need a prescription though. I take it for tendonitis in my ankle.

I have IBS - the codiene is quite nice

But the ibuprofen negates the effect....
