DD2 DUE MEASLES VAX ON WED BUT A BIT UNWELL: MUST I CANCEL?

Typical! she has a low level fever but no other symptoms - she is on calpol and a bit off her food but cheerful enough. I suppose I ought to rearrange the jab then - do others agree?

i would. took my dd for her single measles vax and she had a slight cold and they wouldnt do it so ended up a wasted journey

As far as I am aware there would be no need to cancel, as such...but many gp's prefer not to give any jabs when a child is poorly, But that is for reasons of selfprotection...because if they give a jab and anything afterwards happens, it will be automatically blamed on the jab...iykwim! Maybe talk to your gp to see how they stand to this!

We took ds for his single measles vaccine yesterday and they made us fill out a form certifying that he hadn't had a temperature or other form of illness in the last 7 days. So based on that, I would cancel it and save yourself a wasted journey.

Yep, cancel. I even have them check ds's temp when I take him in for a jab just to make sure there's no low grade fever going on. Okay, so maybe I'm overly cautious but they do so not to give them when they are unwell and especially if running a temp.

jabberwocky · 04/09/2006 19:06

oops, "do say"

donnie · 04/09/2006 20:00

thanks folks, will cancel first thing tomorrow.
