Not pg, or bf & no trauma.

Why is twinging & throbbing a bit? Can you get mastitis if you've never been pg or bf?

It would happen on a Friday

Just had the exact same thing. My dr has given me antibiotics (I made an emergency appt) and an appt to review in 2 weeks. I'm almost 46 and it's 10 years since I last bf.

She agreed with me that it could be mastitis but if antibiotics don't clear it it could be something more sinister. She is referring me to the breast clinic as a matter of course. I am now frantically hoping the symptoms disappear as the course of AB takes hold. Have taken 4 out of a 28 pill course.

It's my left boob and was heavy and sore with a tinge of pinkness. No noticeable flu symptoms but I had a slight raised temp.

Make an appointment if the pain doesn't subside. If it is mastitis then it won't clear up on its own.
