My daughter is now 7wks old. What suggestions do people have on losing the floppy tummy?
HOw do you know when your abs muscles have returned to normal to do sit ups etc?
Is swimming a good one for toning up again ??
IDEAS WELCOME!

I'd be glad to know too - although unfortunately my youngest is now two and I've still not lost it
Actually my abs muscles are quite toned, it's just that they're covered by a large and very unattractive layer of flab

Breastfeeding did it for me! Was smaller than I had been in 4 yrs after 4 months! So if you're feeding, don't worry at all. If you're not, you'll probably find that all the running about after them once they start eating solids and moving will do it for you!

no rush is there? it took 9 mths to put it on, got to allow 9 mths to get it off!

Don't worry beddy, you CAN lose it, but it might take some time. I looked 3 months pregnant for about 6 months after my ds was born. In the end, what did it for me was exercise - a gym programme with lots of abdominal exercises which I stuck to religiously at least 3 times a week.

Swimming is nice and relaxing, and good for general fitness, but it doesn't really tone up your stomach muscles.

Lots of people think breastfeeding helps them lose weight, but in my case it made me put on weight as it gave me the most phenomenal appetite. It was only when I stopped breastfeeding that I was really able to cut down on food.

i always put on weight when bf aswell. after ds2 i got a yoga video (Barbara currie incase you are interested) where you do 10 minutes a day and although im not sure if i was a lot slimmer i found i stood a lot straighter and held my tummy in better without even thinking about it so i looked a lot better. it also helped my achy lower back a lot which was great cos it was so painful i couldnt do any other exercise. i will be doing it again in feb, probably as soon as db4 arrives as it is very good for total beginners (and therefore i asume those with almost no muscle tone)
