I posted this on another board, but nobody seems to have any ideas so, I will cross post here. :/
I had an HSG with Lap done on the 6th of this month, everything seems to have gone well, but I noticed after the procedure it burned to wee for a few hours afterwards. They informed me this is often common after having a catheter in place. Within a few hours of going home, I noticed I started to itch heavily down there as well, not like a yeast infection type of itch, but an annoying itch only where the wee leaves. When the doctor called later that evening I informed him of this and he said if things did not clear up I would need to come in so they could perform some tests. Well things did clear up itch wise and burn a few days later so I thought nothing of it. A few days later after my abdominal pain vanished, I noticed I was frequently using the bathroom to wee and my bladder was starting to badly hurt so I phoned the emergency number for the surgery place (15th) and was put on one time dose antibiotics for a UTI (Monuril). Things started to improve in the following days, but then the itchiness returned (so I treated it like a yeast infection and medicated myself, with no improvement), and by this past Wednesday it felt like I had to constantly pee and like I have not fully emptied my bladder my back was really hurting, to the point where I could barely lean forward it was so bad. I should also mention to be safe, I started a round of Cystinol on the 24th in case the UTI returned.
It does not burn while I pee, but burns prior to it. I am also getting some sharp like shocks in my bladder which at times go straight down my urethra. I have a bit of crampiness in my lower abdomen and the itch mainly comes after I have emptied my bladder. Almost like the urine itself is causing the itch.
I went to my GP the other day and urine came back clean for any UTI, so I am now at a loss and will be scheduling another appointment to see a GYN at the surgery place.
In the meantime, has anyone has something like this after catheter placement?
