Is my Mirena coil still working :/ ?

I have had my Mirena 5 years come October, when it will be due to come out. For the whole of these four and a half years, my 'period' has been a day's worth of pinkish urine. Until now. I have had a more substantial amount of blood for almost a week now - pretty much what my periods were pre-Mirena.

Anybody else had any similar experiences with their Mirena as it approached the end of its life?

Yes and GP replaced it early for me because I dreaded the return of heavy and very painful bleeding. I'm now on my third mirena which will hopefully see me through menopause.

Mine lasted nearly 6 years before the bleeding started getting heavier (I'm 47, so risk of pregnancy is lower and have been taking other precautions, just didn't get round to getting it changed for ages, had it changed last week). I'd definitely see your GP.
