Calf muscle just twanged

Was running across the road at a set of traffic lights- as was in a hurry to get to work- and my calf muscle felt like it twanged. I limped back to work (it is really sore). I now have my leg up- but it is sore to weight bear...

WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!

Do I need to go to the OOHs GP after work? I can't leave, as I am the only one in today manning the post!

I have instructed my DH to come with ibuprofen!

Is this something to do with the wretched legs, bums and tums class I did yesterday?!

If you felt it twang then watch out in case you've torn your Achilles' tendon. It sounds quite typical.

Hope you haven't.have a look

Okay. I can weight bear on it (think this is a good sign), as have hobbled again to the loo. Have now taken the ibuprofen. I can't leave until 4.30 from here- so will have to make do til then. But will go down to A&E after that, and hope there are not too many bank holiday accidents also waiting. It is now sore, but I am not in excruciating pain.... (hoping a bit of PMA will mean that it's nothing serious!!!)

Get it checked for sure. My SIL hobbled around for two days but had ruptured hers.

You have my sympathy! I "f**ked" my Achilles (technical term used by physio-honest!!) two weeks ago. The massage is nearly as painful as the injury!! Limping is v v v tiring!! Rest and ice helps. And the bright pink kinesio tape is as close to looking like Jess ennis as I'm ever likely to get!!
