Bleeding/soreness after examination

Went to Gyno on Friday because I was sore and had discharge.

Last smear was recent and normal.

Knew it couldn't be an STD, had treated for thrush and had tested myself for BV-nada.

Gyno examined my cervix and all areas, said nothing wrong, took swabs, again nothing wrong. Said I had loads of healthy bacteria there, more than average, some people just have more discharge than others, the soreness is superficial-probably caused by rubbing clothes/washing powder/exercise etc.

Had a lot of watery discharge last night and when I went to wipe myself, spots of browny-red blood. Worried now. But should I be?

Everything's fine?Should I ask for further examination?

Could it just be from when she shoved the bloody horrible thing in to crank me open to look at my cervix?I tensed up and it did hurt-she had to try several times-has anybody else ever bled after an examination?

I think it's normal to have some discharge and bleeding after they've used a speculum and/or poked around in there, as it's such a sensitive area. You also might have a bit of cramping. This has been my experience with all speculum/poking around examinations.

Obviously if you bleed a lot, you have a temperature, feel unwell/shaky, discharge smells funny etc, then seek medical attention.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you, RahRahRasputin (love the name btw!) I feel better about it now -I've never bled after a smear test but this was a bit more invasive I think :)

Thank you, it's one of my favourite songs! I'm glad you're feeling better about it :) I've not had a smear but had some high vaginal swabs before my coil fitting and I bled after that, and that was less invasive than what you've had done.
