Intense cramps after IUD - heeelp!

I'm probably being being a major wuss. Had the copper coil inserted about 2 hours ago. Am currently on the sofa feeling v sorry for myself. Cramps are enough to make me groan aloud (again, possibly just being feeble). Is this normal and how long will it last? Have taken paracetamol, appears to have done fuck all.

Someone please give me a magical solution

Cor there's loads of us having this done lately. This is the fourth copper coil thread I've posted on since I had mine in last week. The cramping lasted a few days for me, but got steadily less and less painful with every day, and yeah ibuprofen really helped. Milk it for all it's worth - oh should be bringing cups of tea and pills to the sofa for you where you are resting with blankets

DP has brought strong (legal) drugs and is now bringing home McDonalds

I had one fitted yesterday and have been taking 600 mg of ibuprofen. That seems to gave taken the edge off them. Also I noticed the pain was worse if I wasn't doing anything so I've been pottering about the house so as no
t to notice the cramps.
