Constant bloating..what should I be tested for?

I have IBS and avoid the foods that trigger me, however in the last 6 months I am constantly bloated to the point where my skin feels stretched and sore. I'm tired alot which I put down to my poor sleep pattern but now I'm wondering if it's all linked.

I look pregnant (I'm not) and I have gained 5-6lbs even though I am a healthy eater and exercise.

I'd like to know what's going on, but the Dr I have has basically told me it could be my age or my ibs.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of what if anything I should be tested for and any other suggestions.

Just for info, I don't eat dairy but have lactose free milk in drinks. Don't eat red meat.

I would seek a second opinion from a different doctor.

A blood test should be done to see if your thyroid gland levels are out of sync.

I've had this recently too. I haven't gained weight, but have bloating and intermittent pain. I asked for full blood tests so maybe start with that. Being tired constantly might be because you're anaemic. As Attila says bloods should include thyroid function and it's worth getting the coeliac test too. Bloods are a good indicator of all round health so reassuring if all in normal levels. I've had pelvic and abdo ultrasounds too, but mostly as I've had breast cancer so am slightly higher risk now for ovarian and uterine cancer. Even so they were resistant as they thought it was overkill. I'm still glad I did it, but IBS is what they said right from the off and are still saying.
