Agony in my hip!

Hi. I am currently typing this whilst sitting with a hot water bottle on my left hip. I am in agony. This happens every month without fail, about 7 days before my period starts. I have difficulty in sleeping due to the pain and pain killers don't particularly help. Then as soon as my period gets towards the end (once it has gotten lighter) the pain literally disappears overnight. Then I am fine until next month. I don't really want to bother the Dr. it is so hard to see a GP anyway at my surgery. Has anyone else experienced anything like this??? Any thoughts welcome Smile

You will need to go to the GPs and ask for a referral to a gynae. Cyclical pelvic pain like this should always be checked out properly by such a person and not the GP.

If it remains difficult for you to see the GP I would seriously consider changing GP practice.

I recognise the symptoms as I too have had similar pelvic pain (and treated it very similarly to you prior to diagnosis. In my case the diagnosis was endometriosis).

I would suggest too in the meantime you keep a daily pain and symptom diary as this will also give the gynae clues. Do not ignore this or put off seeking medical advice any longer.

Atilla Thanks so much for the advice. Managed to get an appointment with my GP at the end of the month. I have been looking at endometriosis and I do seem to have most of the symptoms. I will definitely ask for a referal. Thanks again Wink
