Tiny mole/freckle changed colour

Hello, has anyone ever experienced this?

A little mole/freckle on my face has darkened overnight. Because it was so faint before I can't really tell if it has got bigger. Its not scaly or sore.

Of course, Dr Google will always diagnose melanoma, but can this happen for benign reasons?

I have a doctors appointment for tomorrow morning, but right now I am imagining all sorts of horrors

You're doing the right thing getting it checked. Even if it is melanoma and that's a big IF you've caught it pretty early by the sound of it which means an excellent prognosis. Good luck x

I get these all the time. Typically, my freckles get darker, though a few have faded out. I've had growing ones, itchy ones, and one that's gone a bit uneven round the edges. I get them all looked at, and will continue to do so, but my doctors have never seen anything to worry about in them.

Go see your doctor, definitely, but don't lose any sleep over it
