I was sent for a routine mammogram.

They said my breast tissue was "too dense" for a clear picture, so was sent for a breast ultrasound.
Results being sent to GP for appointment on Friday, but radiographer said there were several large cysts and my milk ducts were very dilated.

What do you think? Should I be losing sleep?

So as not to drip feed, I'm nearly 44, have breastfed 3 children for a year each, no family history. No pain, discharge or lumps (which can be felt by either myself or GP)
Also FYI I am overseas and this is private medical care, so not NHS.

DH is away and need some hand holding.

Hand here...

I don't think you should be losing sleep, no. Though I always do with anything boob related, so feel a fraud saying so!

'Too dense' is normal until menopause. Cysts are very common, and I'm not surprised your milk ducts are dilated. Radiographers just look at structural stuff rather than diagnose, so I wouldn't take his/her comments as diagnostic in any way at all.

Friday not too far, luckily, but hope you get some sleep before then Smile

fatow if there was something sinister they wouldn't be sending you back to the GP you'd be referred immediately to the Breast Clinic at the hospital. So the fact it's being sent to the GP is a good sign I'd say. Smile
