Any opticians around?

Picked up my new glasses yesterday and not convinced by the prescription, with both eyes open i feel like I have to focus more with my eyes to make things clear and if I close one eye things are not in focus unless I really focus, didn't have to do that with my old glasses.

It is worth noting that my prescription is poor, -10.75 in both eyes.

I already didn't like it in store as I originally lost any focus at all in my periphal vision, but they adjusted the glasses and it got a bit better, the dispensing optician who saw me the 2nd time did say that it basically just had to live with it because of the strength of my prescription.

What do I do now, do I go back and ask for another eye test? I wish that you were less reliant on deciding if one thing was better or worse to decide on your prescription! Wait a bit longer and see if things get any better, but I definitely feel like I'm straining. Might try these for a few hours then try my old ones again. Never had this problem with a pair of glasses before!

I have a strong prescription (not as strong as yours though, i am -8 ish) and it usually takes me a couple of days to get used to new glasses.

I know what you mean about taking a while to get used to them but this kind of feels different!
