Hope someone can help as I've had this about 5 days now and it's driving me crazy. I,ve got an itch/burning sensation in my vagina and round my vulva. Slight discharge that's kind of very light brown in colour (sorry if tmi!). Had sex a few days ago and had light bleeding after it (not sure if it's relevant). I thought you got more of a discharge with thrush and I don't want to go and ask the chemist but i can't out up with it much longer. Anyone git any idea what it could be?? Sad

Sounds like thrush. I didn't have all the symptoms as it said, and I ended up in agony. Get fluconazole before it gets any worse! Vagisil (from any supermarket or pharmacy) will help soothe it.

Erm see a doctor.
Fwiw, white creamy discharge is thrush. Brown isn't.
Yes bleeding after sex is relevant.

I,ve got an appointment for a smear test on Monday, so was going to ask the nurse about it while I'm there - just not sure if I can put up with it all weekend! When I say brown, I mean it's kind of clear with kind of little little brown jelly like bits (I'm so sorry, don't know how else to describe it). Would taking a thrush treatment to see if that will stop the itching over the weekend do any harm if it's not thrush?

Also had lower stomach pain when this started, but it,s stopped yesterday.

Can't hurt to try thrush stuff then if doesn't work you can tell the nurse it is not that. If it is your be getting betterSmile

Cervical erosion? This can cause some bleeding after sex.

Thrush is possible if there's itching. It wouldn't do any harm to take the thrush treatment now I wouldn't think.

Depending on how regular your periods are, the bleeding/discharge could be hormonal.

Other things I'd suggest is to take a pregnancy test if there is any chance of it, and (without trying to sound offensive), possibly ask for some swabs if there is any possibility you could have a sexually transmitted infection.

Definitely sounds like thrush don't suffer nip up the chemist and get the oral medication you will soon feel better, also add bicarbonate of soda to plain bath water it helps settle things down.

Thanks all. Had a cool bath and noticed some Yukky white stuff so think it may well be thrush. Got canes ten duo from the chemist so hoping that does the trick. Unfortunately no chance of pregnancy as just came off fertility treatment but maybe the bleeding is hormonal? I,ll ask the nurse on Monday. And no chance of it being an sti but not offended as that would have been my first thought!

Thrush can cause a small amount of bleeding after sex. I had really awful thrush last year that bled slightly after sex, and also caused some pain and bleeding mid-cycle that wasn't sex-related. I thought I had something truly dreadful!

The pills in conjunction with cream worked on it.

bouncingbelle · 28/04/2014 14:56

Vikinglady- that is SO my train of thought! Although thinking about it rationally, the stomach pain/(slight) bleeding/ itch did all start at the same time! I,ll hopefully get some reassurance from the nurse today.
