Went to hospital on mon morning after being in pain all morning since I went to bed on sun night pain was down my left side under ribs down towards hip was sick as well doc thought it was kidney stones
I've been fine since drinking plenty of water but today I'm getting a small dull ache around where I had the pain before etc it's a ache like a strained muscle like if I've moved funny I'm now worried that it's coming back could it be or could I just be worrying over nothing

First time I've ever expericed this is I have a docs appointment on tues

Hi Smile

Kidney stones usually move, you can often track the pain down your stomach as they go. It could be that you've passed it already but that bit of the urinary tract is a bit sore, or it's one that has only just started to move from your kidney. Did they give you an x ray or an ultrasound? It's a good way to see if it's still there. There's often blood in the urine, it's nothing to worry about, it's just where the urinary tract has got a little irritated by the stone.

They never did a scan just asked me to do a test when I seen it I saw a bit of blood but now that's been a week and I've been ok just the odd niggle like today keep going back n forward to the loo and feel bloated like I'm on my
period

You should pop and see your GP as there's no way of knowing whether it's been passed (you've weed it out) without an ultrasound or an x ray. It may be stuck in your bladder if you're feeling like this, they need to check.

Sorry, I got bored and name changed.

I had kidney stones (worst pain of my life) and felt the same dull ache afterwards, dr explained it as essentially being a bit battered and bruised where it had passed.

This may not be the same for of course, so talk to a professional if you're worried but just wanted you to know I had the same Smile Sad

The constant feeling of needing a wee was something I only experienced whilst they were passing though...

summertimeandthelivingiseasy · 28/04/2014 12:13

I knew it had passed after weeing in a margarine pot - took 3 days. I have seen a small sieve or tea strainer suggested.

Agree with the feeling of needing to go to the loo for no good reason whilst the stone was still there.

I saw the doctor, rather than A&E, and had follow up checks on kidney function and antibiotics for a possible infection, then they noted that it had passed (and size).

You have my sympathies.
Frequent urine tests to check for infection and something else that shows up in urine if kidney stone suspected. I forget the name but I think I might begin with cre?????
I hope you can get it sorted, I have a kidney stone at the moment, it hurts like hell.

Docs today at 5 feel better from what I did yesterday still kept going to the loo and felt bloated thinking I have a infection but will see soon

Are you managing to wee as much as you have done previously?
I hope you get on ok at the doctors and that you get some answers.
