Liquid amoxycillin- finishing course? out of fridge?

My son probably had a urine infection. Hes much better now and has had anitbiotics since monday. We are going on a very early flight tomorrow am and will be a hotel tomorrow night and not getting to an apartment till sat pm. We can take a cold bag ice pack but don't know if the airline will let us have it onboard. I don't know if they will put it in their fridge. Also I don't know if the hotels has a fridge we can use.

I rang the parharmacy who just said it needed to be in a fridge and I should ring the airline. But its ryan air and aren't they expensive to call.

Any suggestions? Should I just ditch them (its only a 7 day course) or try to keep them cold. The chemist didn't say if he would be ill taking it out of a fridge.

I've never kept Amoxycillin in the fridge and so far it hasn't poisoned dd!

He should really finish the course, otherwise the infection won't be completely cleared and will very likely come back.

its the liquid banana suspension one not tablets, if that makes a difference!

I would just try to keep it as cool as possible beore and during travelling. Put it in the minibar in the hotel or ask the kitchen/bar for a cup of ice and put the bottle in that. Take it to the airport and keep it in the ice as long as possible, asking for a refil once you get airside ie in the departure area and again on the plane and once at the appartment put it in the fridge. A short while ie 3 hours or so out of the fridge shouldn't be a problem

Have fun on holiday

definitely finish the course

liquid amoxyl doesn't actually need to be kept in a fridge but if you can than it's a bonus.

It's the liquid I was talking about, alex. It really won't hurt him if it's not kept in the fridge but it would be bad news not to finish the course.

You definitely need to finish the course and i have never put in the fridge either, did not know you were meant to (sure it has never said "keep refridgerated" on the label)

thanks again. Mine say it needs to be kept in the fridge on the pharmacy label and the chemist was very keen for me to do so. Now I need to get it on the plane! I will have to make my partner taste it for security as my son makes such a huge fuss about it (we mix it with ice cream) that anyone would think it was a liquid explosive.
