Bruising after a breast biopsy

Had a breast biopsy using a mammogram on Thursday. The incision was on the top of the breast. Woke up yesterday with nasty purple /red area on the underside of the breast.

The nurse did say there might be significant bruising -but surely it would be where the needle went in? The only other possible explanation is that my dd has latched on in the night and given me a hickey, but it is quite a large area. ( have also ruled out mastitis)

Anyone have any experience of bruising after a biopsy?

TIA Smile

Yes I had very severe bruising after a core biopsy it took quite a few days to go . Must be very uncomfortable for you if bf as well!
When do you get results ?

Also meant to say, most of my breast was bruised although the biopsy was lower half. I was shocked at how extensive it was and had trouble with car seat belts.

Thanks NK3, it's not really that sore-just looks pretty awful.
Should get the results next week, I went to the breast clinic with a lump which hadn't gone three weeks after mastitis. They aren't worried about that, but during the mammogram found califications.
