I got this email today and wanted to post in order to possibly find someone who has any experience of this kind of cancer.

"We wanted to give you an update on Carson. They were able to do a biopsy on Thursday and fortunately they did not have to do any exploratory surgery, instead they made a 2? incision and took a slice of the tumor. At the same time, they also installed a port in his chest which can be used instead of an IV. On Friday the formal diagnosis came in regarding his prognosis. Carson has Stage IV Hepatoblastoma (liver cancer) that has metastasized to his lungs. They are treating him with the most aggressive doses and combinations of chemotherapy he can take. They finished his first chemotherapy treatment late Sunday night. Carson has had two great days in a row. After another blood transfusion today they were able to go home. He will go back to the hospital for another 3 to 5 days in 16-21 days for another dose. There have been several stories of survival with this cancer. If you hear of someone who has experienced this cancer, please share my contact information. We would like to put them in touch with Ryan and Kimberly and at a minimum retell the story so they can continue to hear survival stories. The rarity of this cancer is less than 1 in 1,000,000 kids.

We are in the process of setting up a caringbridge.org website that people can get updates and leave wishes and will communicate that site once it is up and running. Thank you again for your prayers!
