Saw doc yesterday. gave me liquid pain relief. Have had really sore throat since sat am. Slept on and off all day sat/sun. Had aches and pains all over my body but not had them since Sunday. When I told doc this he said "It seem you are over the worst of it" I agreed as sore throat had eased. Later on,it got sorer and I needed to gargle with tcp. I retched and then a little speck of blood came up with my gargle spit. It has happened again this morning after an awful painful and restless night. Feel like it is closing up again. I hate been in this much pain .......

I've heard gargling with soluble aspirin is supposed to help. Maybe take nurofen as anti inflammatory. Honey & lemon is supposed to help a sore throat.
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Just sleeping & resting will help. Did the Dr say it's viral or do you have antibiotics?
If you are worried about the blood do you have a health direct line that you can call? I'm not in the UK now so not sure what it's called now.
Hope you feel better soon.

Poor you. I suffered with strep throat for 5 days after seeing the doc who said to take paracetamol. 104 degree fever, chills etc. Only got sorted after seeing another doctor 5 days later who put me on to antibiotics.

Thanks for updating. Hope you are feeling a bit better. I was thinking tonsitliis but as you had seen the Dr already thought he would have diagnosed that.
