It pees me off enough when people are late and don't apologise, but today takes the biscuit. I've been up most of the night with 8wk old son, and HV was due at 11am- was looking forward to a nap with son this afternoon, but still no sign of her. It's now 1.15pm- i've just rung her and left a message to say i expected her at 11, so it's no longer convenient for me to see her today. It's so bloody annoying, she does this every time, but this is the 1st time i've done something about it. Anyway- rant over!!!!!

make a formal complaint

there is no excuse for this (as regular as this)

That's really annoying. My HV always used to be late when she came to me (never more than 40 mins, but still bloody inconvienient) Deffo complain. If she can't get round, she should at least call to say so

rant away, really annoying. My MW was always late, and was about 3 or 4 hours late one day and I was standing at the window with ds in my arms watching for her, sobbing out loud "where are you?" "help me" (was having real problems with bfing...)
The HVs from my surgery kept going to the wrong house. Same number, same street, wrong part of the city.

and I know they could very well be delayed by having one or two unexpectedly particularly distraught/complicated etc visits earlier, but would a quick phone call hurt?

DetentionGrrrl · 22/08/2006 14:06

She's phoned me back to say she'll be here at 3pm now, as she must have mixed up her diary. My midwife was always late aswell, but she would ring to say she was on her way and sorry. Glad it's not just me being fussy anyway!
