Advice on Obstetricians - is it worth going privately?

Hi there,
I am new to mumsnet and really glad to be here. Some months ago I lost my babies who were born prematurely due to a placenta abruption. There were some misjudgments from the part of the NHS doctors that had detrimental effects on the babies' chances for survival. I asked my GP about going privately if I am to try again to get pregnant. Her advice was that I will end up receiving the same care as on the NHS. What do you think? Is there anyone out there who was in a similar situation and went privately or not? Is there anyone in Oxfordshire that can recommend a good private obstetrician?
many thanks

So sorry for your loss .

I would be careful about getting private obstetric care in any hospital that did not have a SCBU and on site paeds 24 hours a day. Someone who knows your local situation may be able to advise you better.
