Had a gtt done last week phoned to get the results earlier & they were 5.3 then 2 hours later were 5.4 which are all normal. I have access top a blood sugar monitor so had an idea of what the results should be I had 5.7 for the first reading so not to far out then 7.5 for the second which is obviously very different. My normal problem is normally that my levels appear to drop quick but these results have me really confused does anyone have any advice.

were your hands definitely clean when you did the second reading as I hadnt washed my hands after eating fruit once and got a high reading which came down after washing them properly

I had just washed them with the same soap as before I did the first test as I wanted to be sure the reading was accurate. I did end up going to or

Our local walk in centre the other well cause I felt really bad like sugars had dropped but because of the Length of the wait as I had eaten something they were showing as ok. I'm away at the moment but once i'm back home I'll have to see if I can get an app to talk about results, they want to redo the test in 10 Weeks just don't know how to make them listen

Strange they should be so different. Although I expect they must be because otherwise they would do the GTT by fingerprick instead as it would be faster/cheaper.

Aren't both sets of results normal anyway? I just had a postnatal GTT and got 5.6 and 7.6 and was told I'm not even pre-diabetic.
