Oi GB no Lambrini allowed on this thread! If you do fall off the wagon, which is allowed as long as you are back on board the next day, you must drink nice drinks. Otherwise you are just drinking for the alcohol content and that is a whole different thread!

Gingerbear · 21/08/2006 12:54

Carmenere...
OK boss.

PS you do know that I was jesting re lambrini don't you?
DH will have to manage the rest of the Sunday Times wine case by himself.

ledodgyrobespierre · 21/08/2006 12:54

LGJ i'm going with my best friend who started last week and has already lost 6 pounds. I'm quite competitive so I think this will spur me on!

Gingerbear · 21/08/2006 12:54

I would rather drink Listerine than lambrini.

SherlockLGJ · 21/08/2006 12:55

Oh Gingerbear now that is dedication.

GB I did know you were joking, I have met you and you diddn't strike me as the type of woman who liked a sweet cherry finish to her wine

southeastastra · 21/08/2006 13:08

i'm in

SherlockLGJ · 21/08/2006 13:11

I quite like iced tea, anyone else here like it? I also like Kombucha which is like a super healthy sweet iced grren tea drink. Something like that may fit the bill LGJ(surely having your hair done is a nice relaxing treat??)

meowmix · 21/08/2006 13:22

I'm in - mint tea (ie proper tea with mint in it not green scrapings in a bag) for me.

Carmenere · 21/08/2006 18:43

I have just washed my dinner down with a diet coke! I feel a bit crap today and I'm travelling to Ireland tommorow so I don't want to feel sluggish. That said the chemicals in diet coke are probably worse for you than a glass of antioxidant-packed red wine......

Gingerbear · 21/08/2006 19:17

I have just burped my way through fizzy water and 2 glasses of grape and apricot juice.
Too full to think about wine!

Gingerbear · 21/08/2006 19:18

Carmenere, how will you cope in Ireland?
Have a good time.

hermykne · 21/08/2006 19:20

i've givwn it up too for two weeks now, and dd (nearly4) says to me every dinner "why u not having your glass of wine"

Carmenere · 21/08/2006 23:44

GB thanks I will have a lovely time but I will probably have a few glasses of wine tommorow when I meet up with my sisters and then on Sunday night I'm going to a friends hen party and I am fairly sure there will be copious amounts of fizz around. I'm happy enough to drink a bit on social occasions, I just want to cut out the incidental, almost automatic 'oh it's seven, I'll have a glass of wine' drinking that is responsible for making me feel below par and fat.

SherlockLGJ · 22/08/2006 08:46

Well I failed miserably. Combination of hairdresser, and stressed out friend (who was also having her hair done)moaning about her DH, nothing major, but it is the same moan as she always has and has had for the last five years.

And I get so bored listening to it.

But today is another day.
