Gall bladder removal recovery

Hello,

I had my gall bladder removed 20 days ago. How long does it take to settle down? The holes are mending ok, but still got occasional pain under ribs, sometimes a bit burning. Wondering if it is related to what I am eating, or wind. Sometimes hurts lower down too.

Any advice appreciated! Thanks. I might be overdoing it as we came away on holiday a few days ago, but am trying to rest. Go thought it would be ok to come away, have had hard few weeks.

Thanks!

I seem to remember having this for a while after the op. I guess you had keyhole surgery? Apparently they inflate your abdomen (Yep, actually blow you up like a balloon! No dignity on the operating table, right?) and it takes a while for the excess air to leach out if your abdominal cavity. That can cause aches and pains wherever the air finds its way into your tissues.

I was a bit careful about rich food for maybe a month after the operation, but nothing like as careful as I had been before it! Wink I'm sure you'll feel better soon. Enjoy your holiday!

I had mine out on 15th march and I am worse off having it outHmm have just come out of hospital for the second time and still don't know why I'm having attacks which are worse than before. This doesn't happen to everyone so you should be ok, just go back to your dr for other medication. Hope you get it sorted
