Chest infection

Is anyone else suffering??

It's like flu plus tonsillitis plus chest infection all rolled into one I've never felt so poorly. I'm a lone parent with no family support every small thing feels like a mountain to climb....... Last night my son had the most horrendous trapped wind, he was rolling about my bed screaming in agony I was crying my eyes out just wanted to take my night nurse and go to sleep. All I've done for nearly a week is sleep, and cough, and sweat . It's just horrendous I can't see an end to it.....

Anyone else suffering???

Me, me, me. Though you have it worse, because I've been able to leave husband to it while I've stayed in bed most of the last 3 days. On the other hand, I have multiple drug sensitivities: can't take aspirin, ibuprofen, codeine, or most decongestants. No night nurse for me. So I'm setting alarms to keep my paracetamol intake just inside the recommended maximum, topped up with the occasional tramadol when I'm feeling extra miserable. The thing that's really annoying is that if I'd taken time off work last week, when it was really just a bad head cold, my immune system would probably have done it's thing by now. But no... I was too busy. So now, like you say, it's just cough (ouch!), sleep, sweat, sleep, cough...

How old is your son? Did he sleep in the end? Hope you feel better soon.

Hi sandthorn my son is 11. He's really good he does a lot for himself but obviously there's a lot he can't do! I had him in A&E about 3 years ago with his horrendous trapped wind! Little bugger farted and all was well...... But it does cause him immense pain when he gets it........

Sorry to hear about your drug allergies...... Tho what I'm taking isn't really easing my symptoms much? Ditto about going into work last week..... I started feeling poorly about a week and a half ago but just kept going! X
