Extreme unexplained tiredness last two weeks

Is there something going round that could cause this? Up til two weeks ago I thought of myself as 'superfit' :-) and was doing loads and getting a BIT tired but carrying on and wondering how I was managing it. Now if I do the smallest thing, like a short walk into town and back, I feel I need to sleep. The longer I feel like this I am starting to worry.

First thing to check - are you really thirsty, peeing a lot and starting to lose weight? Because if so, get yourself to the gp pronto for a blood sugar test (type 1 diabetes can start suddenly at any age).

Anaemic? Pregnant?

overthemill · 06/04/2014 17:34

Pregnant? Diabetic? Anemic? Or other things like lymphoma make you very tired. You ought to ask a doctor really!

Get your thyroid hormones checked as well. I have an underactive thyroid and before getting diagnosed I was permanently exhausted.

LoungingLizard · 06/04/2014 17:36

No, none of that JellyBabies, I think I may have even GAINED some weight, maybe due to being on the pill last six months (?).

Not pregnant. Can the other things people have said, happen so suddenly?

What happens is , you NOTICE it suddenly but looking back you work out you've been knackered longer

mercibucket · 06/04/2014 17:41

virus?

2 weeks is not long. if it continues, get some bloods done

LoungingLizard · 06/04/2014 17:44

You could be right OverTheMill as I think I was ignoring some feelings (mental as well as physical) and carrying on.

If two weeks is not long maybe it's ok Merci, and I could leave it a bit longer before worrying(?)

The clocks changing has made me tired at the most random times, but it's wearing off now.

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 06/04/2014 19:01

The weeing/thirst/weight loss/tiredness combo is diabetes, and type 1 diabetes can start suddenly at any age and be dangerous in days. But if you've not got the other symptoms it won't be that.

Get thee to a GP anyway!

LoungingLizard · 06/04/2014 20:31

Thank you all. I do have to go to the doctor soon anyway to get more pills, so I will ask about it then.
