Crossing Eyes - Should I Worry

My dd is 9 weeks old and several times per day her eyes cross inward. This can be both eyes together or either side individually. The rest of the time her eyes seem to be normal and work together. She watches faces and can track objects with both eyes so I am unsure whether her eye muscles are still developing or whether I should be concerned. It seems to happen more when she is in a sitting position and mostly looks like she is focusing in on her nose or smetimes an object close up. I have mentioned it to the doc who said she would check her at 6mths. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I get a 2nd opinion?

Ahhm bless her. I don't know what they could do at 9 weeks but go for a second opinion as it'll just set your mind at rest, I'm sure it's all fine.
Lots of love, xx

Chutch, I think you're still OK at nine weeks, the muscles of the eye do take a while to settle down. Provided she can track most of the time things are obviously heading in the right direction, I'd say.

Periodic crossing of the eyes is normal - not constant eye crossing. Eyes may not be really straight until about 6 months apparently!!

If your dd has already had a doctor checkup she-he would have looked for crossed eyes.

Sounds like she is doing very well!!

Thanks - dh and family keep telling me it's nothing to worry about but as a first time mum I'm not sure what to expect
