Just wondering if anyone has got an experience of either having one of these fitted or know of some one for urinary retention.

I have had one fitted this week and I am worried.

I had one, but not for retention. Did you have a thread before? Just in case it wasn't you...

Sadly it didn't work for me. Fitting and removal no problem though, both done under general. Sensation is very odd, feels like one of your buttocks is buzzing!

Good luck. If it works, great, if it doesn't, it won't make the issue any worse, so nothing to worry about.

I have not had a thread about this before.

I am concerned that I am not buzzing enough!?!? I have turned the stimulation up a little and I could feel it like when the Consultant fitted it, but now its just a low dull buzz occasionally (the consultant did say that I wouldn't feel it all the time). Did you turn up the stimulation? I cant remember the Consultants saying yes or no! Typical it being a weekend!

Yep, I adjusted it, as you gradually get used to it so need to turn it up more. Just don't do what I did and unplug without switching it off - got out the shower, plugged it back in and had somehow turned it up, was a bit shocking!!

Thanks, I remembered I was sent some paperwork before the operation so I read it this morning, I am supposed to ring them and they will talk me through changing the stimulation. (oops!) I have been absolutely fine today "buzzing" along nicely on the new setting! I have emailed them explaining - not a lot really I could have done as they would npt have been at work over the weekend!

I have all my fingers and toes crossed that it works. Not sure what else they can do for me.

Glad you sorted it out. Fingers crossed it works for you. Unfortunately it didn't for me, and I am currently shitting myself as having major surgery tomorrow (clam cystoplasty).

Good luck for tomorrow, sounds dreadful - lets hope it works for you
