Just been to emergency GP - DD2 has shingles. Following 2 bouts of chicken pox in her short life (24 weeks). Whatever happened to BF boosting immune system ? GP said she may need a blood test to see if her immune system is ineffective. Worried... Any words of wisdom out there.

I was 3 months old when had chicken pox then 7 when had shingles, has your baby already had chicken pox, I didn't think they could get shingles before chicken pox, maybe I'm wrong, but I would phone your doctors or the nurse on call to put your mind at rest, especially if baby is in any discomfort!

Good luck

suggy - do you know if you have evr had chickenpox yourself? You can only passon immunity if you are immune. I certainly would ask for her immunity to be checked - 6 months is very young to have as many infections. It can be possible to be susceptible to infections but there is treatment if needed. Best to find out.
