I was getting dd ready this morning and saw something on her sholder at a closer inspection and a quick pick at it (thinking it was a bit of food)it looks like a very pronounced mole, very simular to the one my nana had (coco pop kind) it looks a bit bloody red in colour and its developed that fast that I only noticed it this morning... am going to get her into the gp on monday just to make sure it is a mole, has anyone elses child had a mole develop this fast? DD is 5.

TIA

Don't try to remove it unless you're absolutely certain that it is a tick. You might do more harm than good.

If it is definitely a tick, then you need to hold it as close to the head as possible with tweezers and pull persistently until it releases, being careful not to leave any of it behind. I've only done this once and it was from an adult. I must admit, I'd rather get a nurse to do it if it were on a child.

Personally I wouldn't try to remove it even if it is a tick as if you accidentally squeeze fluid back in it could make her ill. If it's come up literally overnight I wouldn't see any problem in taking her to a&e just to have a doctor look at it and make sure it's nothing to worry about. I would if it was my DS so don't feel like you'd be being paranoid or a nuisance.
