Ear blocked and constant ringing

Recently had some problems with ear wax build up having never suffered with my ears before. The GP syringed both ears, unfortunately only the left one cleared itself. Have been advised to go back in a week and keep using the oil drops to soften the wax in the right ear.

Since going, I seem to have developed a constant ringing in the right ear which is there 24/7. Am hoping it's not permanent tinnitus and that it will resolve itself naturally when my ear finally unlocks. But I'm panicking a little! Got to wait till next Weds for appt so just looking for some reassurance and from anyone who's been through similar.

Hi, I have tinnitus and it's a condition which is hard to say what it will do. It can start after ear cleaning and then go again after everything settles down, this happened to my Dsis hers however went completely after 4 weeks, but likewise it can stick around. I think your doing the right thing by going back to the doctor to have it checked out again as they can advise you on further tests etc. Try not to worry too much about it if you can as this can make it seem louder, white noise can also be helpful to mask it when trying to sleep. I hope it does go soon.
