hi,

ever since i can remember ive hated people being sick, i cant stand the sound or sight of people vomiting. im ok if im sick myself but not others. if anyone tells me theyve had a tummy bug then i get paranoid for weeks after that me or lo's will get it.
up until now ive been able to control it but since having dd its got worse. if she is sick i get the shakes and diariaha(sp)and cant cope with it on my own. Im then really paranoid for weeks after that it will happen again and cant sleep and also check on her constantly.
Obv as shes getting older the more contact shes getting with bugs etc.

Has anyone had any treatment to help their phobia of vomitting and if so what was it and did it work. I really need to sort this out as I would rather give a sick DD to gps to look after than have to be alone with her being sick.

There are loads of people on MN with this phobia, kbaby, & there have been several threads on this subject.
I have a friend at work who has a very severe form of this phobia, to the point that it is becoming an obsessive disorder. She has been to her gp about the problem & is on the waiting list for some kind of therepy to help her cope with the phobia a little better.
Have you thought of going along to your doctors surgery to see if you could be put down for something like this?
