This will be the third montrous stye to appear, the second one was so big and nasty we were refered to an opthamologist (sp?) but to honest he was little help. I know there are old wives tales of rubbing you wedding ring on the stye, bring it to a head with a hot spoon and then popping it but practically speaking we are dealing with 3 year old who won't let me near it. I wondered if anyone knew how to prevent them or stop one from becoming so huge and sore.

Poor dd.....styes are horrid to have. This probably won't help with a 3 year old, but I had a series of styes as an adult which left ugly 'cysts': I tried having one surgically removed, it was back within months. In the end, I went to a reputable acupuncturist and that was the end of styes - and that was fifteen years ago.
Wish I could think of a more child-friendly solution, though imagine most acupuncturists have non-needle techniques they can use?? Hope something helps soon....
