Halo procedure for piles

Having one tomorrow. Lucky me Sad. It's in combination with a minor vaginal procedure, and will be under general.

Has anyone had one? Advice? What's it like afterwards? How long until doing a poo doesn't hurt like blazes?

Don't have any advice but as a piles sufferer (and too much of a wimp to have the op) just want to wish you the best of luck and hope it is not too painful afterwards.Come back and tell us how you get on!

I haven't had this particular procedure, but have had anal skin tags removed.

Quite painful recovery - but the actual bowel movements weren't too bad.

Just take any laxatives offered and drink a LOT of water.

it'll be worth it.

How did you find it OP? I’ve been advised I need the HALO procedure but it’s been left to me to decide if to go ahead, can’t find many stories about it that aren’t a sales pitch on a hospital website!
