Skin cancer biopsy

I had a biopsy of a "nasty looking" freckle type thing on the underside of my breast this morning. I'm scared it's cancer, my Dr said it looked really suspicious and wanted to shave some off to send to be tested right away. I'll get the results in a week. In the meantime I have a sore boob and am stressing. Anyone else have anything similar?

I went to docs this week about a strange freckle type thing on my foot, they said it looks odd but as I'm under 35 (am 32) they have to treat it as 'just a new mole' unless it chNges. Panicking!!!

I have a new mole on my fanjo (I discovered it after I gave birth so assuming it developed then) I've been too embarrassed to see the doctor about it but I think I need to man up and flash my bits at them.

I really hope you get the results of your biopsy soon, did they say how long it would take?

About a week they said. So hopefully by next Friday.

It's scary though when the dr says it's nasty looking. I just thought it was another freckley thing. Am covered in freckles so hopefully this is just an odd looking one.

I had a strange little red bump removed and it turned out to be a malignant melanoma. It was caught early though and I then had a wide excision where they removed more surrounding tissue just to make sure it was all gone. I have a scar now but otherwise I am healthy and I just stay out of the sun. It was a shock at first but now I just get on with things and try not to worry. I do check my skin very regularly though.

You did the right thing - if skin cancer is caught early it is very treatable. It's when it is ignored for ages that is is a problem.

It's definitely cancer. They called me in this morning for blood tests and apparently my white count is through the roof so I need a full body scan ASAP. I have to wait for another call in the morning. I'm so scared but they're doing things quick at least.

snow so sorry to hear that and I bet you are scared. But, they are seeing you quickly and they've came straight back to you so that's really good. Having the best care is one of the most important things and you seem to have that.
Skin cancer is easily treated if caught early but I can imagine you're in shock.
Hope they get you sorted asap

Dp had a really nasty one it kept bleeding and changing he had it removed a couple of weeks age and the biopsy came back fine.

Snow shoe - so sorry to hear this. Have they told you what sort of cancer they think it is ?

I can understand how scared you are.
I had my first skin cancer 2 years ago. Successfully removed.
Had another last year and have to have two minor ops as they didn't remove enough the first time.
Just got the all clear for a 3rd biopsy yesterday, which I am very relieved about.
I go to a skin specialist once a year and have a good check over. I have typical celtic skin colouring freckles and reddish hair. Lots and lots of freckles.

The good thing is they are acting quickly, as icantstopeatinglol pointed out they are acting quickly, so a good chance that they can stop it before it starts.
I remember the first time I realized I had cancer was devastating so I understand how scary it is for you.

sorry snow i mustnt have read your last post when i posted. Im sure others on here have more knowledge than me so ill let them give the advice. but i hope you get the answers you need soon and they can get you fit and healthy again, like other have said the sooner the better with these things and it sounds like they are on the ball.

I had a biopsy done on a mole on my back a couple years ago, I had always had the mole but it had changed in shape and size, biopsy came back showing precancerous cells so I had the whole mole removed a few weeks later ( the mole was huge and they had to take quite a bit of skin and flesh ) I am left with a scar but have had not other problems ( though I do have a few others that need checking by my gp and was told I was prone to skin cancer).

My dad also had skin cancer last year but was easy to treat, they removed it and he needed no further treatment, it is one of the easiest cancers to treat and because you can see it we tend to go to the gp when it's in its early stages, quite often it is just simply removed without any other treatments.

Another one with a 'freckly thing' being investigated - though not till April, as GP thinks at worst a lentigno something or other that could turn malignant over time.

Even that is spooking me slightly, so I totally understand the fears at a freckly thing being proven to be cancerous already - at the same time, the odds are high that it will be successfully treated (most skin cancers are) and hopefully the white cell count will turn out to be unrelated.
