How do I find out about my Health Visitor?

We moved house at the beginning of May and joined a new doctor's at the time. Does anyone know if I will have been assigned a new Health Visitor. In my old area the Health Visitors worked through Sure Start and not the doctor's but they don't have Sure Start here. Should I ask at the doctor's about it or ring my old hv? I don't have any problems but would like to get Charlie weighed. Also, he's 19 months and has not been seen by a hv since his very early check up apart from at the clinic. Are there any check up's they should have, I thought there was one at 18 months.

Ask your new GP - where I used to live and here they both had community health sections which housed the HV's and suchlike. Depending on the size of your GP (if it's a health centre) they will possibly run their own clinic but if not they will be affiliated to another one near you.
However, our clinic stopped seeing babies at clinic at 12 months and you had to make appointments thereafter. There used to be a check up at 18 months but (in my area) they stopped it and sent out questionnaires instead and made appointments if you needed to talk about anything.

I'm surprised you have not heard from your HV. I am a HV too and it's usual for us to offer a home visit to all parents new to the area within a month of them registering at the GP practice. The receptionists here usually leave me a note to say that there is a new child under 5 registered with the practice and I then make contact with the parents and arrange a home visit (if they want one).
Ask your GP surgery who the HV is and say you haven't heard anything. My guess is that they've forgotten to inform her about you.
