Right on the nail line. Lots of blood and tears.
What i nead to know is how easily do babies bones break? Should I take her down to a&e to get it checked out? DH thinks I am over reacting and she is ok but she is still crying 1/2 jhour on and not wanting to walk on it.
Advice please!!
Have given her calpol for pain relief

ouch

This time on a Saturday is usually quite busy at the A&E but then I am a graduate of the "Give them calpol and see how they are in the morning" school of medicine"

Also, the "if you have to ask whether she should go to A&E, she probably doesn't need to" one aswell.

If that was me, I would wait until morning but I am obviously not a doctor!

Poor little thing. My ds2 had his big toe, trapped in door by big brother, also lots of blood. It was broken, but there's nothing then can do, other than strap up he need steristrips because of large cut. Just keep it clean and put a tubular bandage on it if you've got one. My guess is she'll lose the nail. My ds2 sobbed for at least 40 mins so wouldn't worry unduly. If she's still suffering tomorrow am go then. Give her a big kiss from all of us here in Colorado

At least you didn't have to pull of a red sock like me thinking half the toe would be gone . Let her lie down, it'll stop the swelling try a pack of frozen peas in a towel. Sure she'll hate it but it would help. I think she's being very brave.

Ah poor thing! i'd just put a cold compress on it - lots of cuddles and calpol, and see how she fairs up. they generally can't strap broken toes anyway. poor little thing.

Mine ate cat food the other day. little bugger. had a right battle getting it out. 14 months - thinks he's so smug when he does something 'illegal'.

My dd did the exact same thing at around the same age - it was her first trip to casualty! They didnt bother with xrays but steri-stripped it and she still has a scar there now. She is nearly 7 and ds nearly 5 but still shudder at the thought of it and still keep the cat food in a top cupboard! Hope she feels better tomorrow poor love.
